Brussels is well known for it's tango competition. There were a lot of wonderful dancers at the Brussels Tango Festival of 2009 at the Galerie de la Reine, 13-15, who did a good job of performing the tango. Two performers, Sigrid van Thilbeurg and Leandro Furlan danced to a romatic tune that was truly wonderful to watch as they danced in an improvisational dance that highlights how the tango should be danced, both danced fluidly together with natural grace and style.

Sigrid Van Tilbeurgh comes from a background in dance.

"As a dancer who has taken ballet classes since childhood and an education in contemporary dance, Sigrid discovered Argentine tango in 1999 in South-Eastern France, the region of her origin. By 2001, she was taking part in performances, and in the following year, she began to give classes.

While studying Spanish language at university, Sigrid worked together with Hernan Obispo, Christophe Lambert and Moira Castellano. In 2004, Sigrid left for Argentina in order to pursue her formal training in tango and stays in Buenos Aires for one year. After her return, she began to tour internationally as a dancer and teacher of Argentine tango. In December 2005, she met Mazen Kiwan, and both decided to work together teaching Argentine tango."

Leandro Furlan grew up in Buenos Aires and studied tango and artistic gymnastics. He began to work with tango in La Plata-BsAs, following which he decided to travel to Europe. Today Leandro and Gaia work as Showdancers, Teachers and Tango-DJ's in all of Europe.
